For all of my bookkeeping clients, I use Quickbooks Online. It has many features that make it a great bookkeeping software for small businesses and I use it for my own business.
Easy Access to data in one place
Quickbooks Online has many utilities and tools to aggregate all the needed data into one location. Bank transactions can be automatically imported from checking and savings accounts. Credit cards can also be connected. Payment processors such Paypal or Square can be integrated to have all the financial information visible.
Payroll Integration
Quickbooks Payroll, Gusto, ADP, and others can be set up to sync with Quickbooks Online. Configure your payroll to sync and when payroll is processed, a journal entry matching that payment will be created in Quickbooks Online.
Receipt Capture
Using the QBO app, receipts can be photographed and uploaded to QBO. QBO deciphers the date and amount and can help create the expense for you.
Mileage Log
The QBO app allows you to easily log mileage by selecting start and then stop when you arrive. It is captured electronically so all you have to do is download it and send to your tax preparer at the end of the year.
